Autodesk Fusion revolutionises the design-to-manufacturing workflow by seamlessly integrating 3D CAD, CAM, and CAE capabilities in one powerful platform. This free-for-education, industry-standard software, widely adopted by leading engineering and manufacturing companies, enables students to develop professional-grade skills directly applicable to future careers. Led by an Autodesk-certified educator, and D&T teacher,  this course empowers teachers to confidently integrate Fusion into both KS3, 4 and advanced KS4/5 curricula, supporting progression from basic modeling to complex engineering solutions.

Session Highlights:

  • Immersive Learning Experience: Develop practical skills through guided hands-on exercises, real-time problem-solving, and relevant projects that challenge students across key stages.
  • Progressive Skill Development: Master techniques that scaffold learning from KS3 fundamentals through to advanced KS4/5 applications in engineering and product design.
  • Professional Development Network: Connect with experienced educators and industry experts to share best practices and innovative teaching strategies.

Content Overview:

  • Foundation Skills: Master Fusion's interface and essential modelling tools while learning effective teaching strategies for different ability levels.
  • Advanced Modelling Techniques: Progress from basic sketching to complex 3D modelling using extrude, revolve, sweep, and loft tools.
  • Design Optimisation: Learn professional workflows using rendering, simulation and animation tools.
  • KS4/5 Applications: Explore advanced features including stress analysis, sheet metal work and manufacturing simulation to support A-Level and BTEC projects.
  • Assessment Integration: Discover strategies for incorporating Fusion projects into NEAs and practical assessments across key stages.
  • Industry Connection: Understand how Fusion skills align with professional practice and career pathways in engineering and design.

Please bring a laptop, mouse, and digital vernier callipers with you to the session.

It’s important to have Fusion downloaded and accessible on your laptop beforehand, as the trainer will not be able to offer technical support on the day.

The course is delivered by an Autodesk-certified educator. Autodesk has helped reduce the course cost, allowing us to offer it to you at a discounted price, saving members over £140

Lunch will be provided.
