This resource pack is focused on product design in industry and aims to raise awareness of career opportunities and paths in this sector. The unit is built around a case study of child’s play tepee designed and manufactured by ’Paperpod Ltd’. The core of this unit is a PowerPoint presentation which is used to present the task and provides some designing resources. There is also an introductory PowerPoint ‘Careers in Designing and Making’ and included are three files for the nets required for the included tasks. One is intended for hand cutting and folding, the second is a Laser ready file, the third is a simplified net but it does not copy the construction method which the manufacturer has specified.
The resource also includes teacher notes, information about careers and links to a number of websites and further useful resources.
