Lol Conway

Curriculum Consultant

Bio:

Lol Conway was a Design and Technology teacher for 14 years teaching students from years 7 to 13 in comprehensive secondary schools. She was a Head of Department for 7 of those years and was a College/Pastoral Leader for 2. During her time as Head of Department she took a department that was struggling to a thriving and outstanding faculty within the school.

Lol trained and worked in Theatre Design before going on to work for The Guardian as part of their Digital Advertising team for 5 years. She came into teaching after realising she missed the more practical and design led elements of her training and wanted to inspire more girls to look at Design and Technology as a subject for them.

Lol is passionate about children of all abilities and backgrounds reaching their potential and finding what inspires them. She has a keen interest in developing primary Design and Technology teaching and has also worked as a primary teacher setting up and delivering EYFS, KS1 and KS2 Design and Technology in a school and developing a Curriculum Pathway for the subject so as to create an effective through curriculum into KS3 and beyond. She was able to gain a valuable insight into the curriculum challenges and opportunities and worked to develop a curriculum that combined both Computing and Design and Technology.
