Clive Grinyer

Bio:

Professor Clive Grinyer is an experienced design leader who has set up and led influential product, digital and service design teams in several international companies.

He started his career with innovation consultancy IDEO in the US and was co-founder of the design consultancy Tangerine along with future Apple design chief Sir Jony Ive. He went on to lead design teams at Orange, Cisco, and Barclays Bank.

Clive was Director of Design and Innovation for the UK Design Council and more recently Head of Service Design at the Royal College of Art.

Clive runs his own design business, is strategic design advisor to Bosch and runs design training for companies including the Bank of England, Lego and the Dorchester Collection of hotels.

He is the author of “Smart Design” and is writing his second book, “Redesigning Thinking”, to be published in 2025. Clive sees design as a vital tool for life that should be an essential part of all educational experiences.
