Think Human Exhibition
Published 27th September 2024
The 26th September saw the launch of 'Think Human', A joint celebration of CIEHF and ergonomics.
In celebration of the Chartered Institute of Ergonomics and Human Factors (CIEHF) 75th anniversary, 'Think Human' is an exhibition which brings together people, products, places and procedures to celebrate a world that's designed to be both safe and productive, comfortable and enjoyable.
In partnership with Loughborough University and Derby’s 'Museum of Making', the exhibition tells the story of how ergonomics has shaped the world. It includes how ergonomics has helped Britain win Olympic gold medals, how it helps us navigate railway stations, and how it helps to deliver the latest cancer treatment. It celebrates the people behind the products and encourages visitors to be the next generation of ergonomists.
Set over three floors in the fantastic Museum of Making, in Derby, Think Human really comes to life on the top floor where exhibits and interactive displays showcase the impact and necessity of human factors, anthropometrics and ergonomics when designing products and systems to solve a huge variety of societal and individual problems.
It is a great showcase of the impact of D&T in its wider sense, covering empathetic designing, material science and more through a wide range of inspiring exhibits.
The exhibition is being held at Derby's Museum of Making from Friday 27 September to Sunday 22 December 2024. Entry is free. For more information contact info@derbymuseums.org
