Teachers in Residence: Summer Placements

The first teachers in Residence placements for 2023 are currently being finalised and we are excited to announce further details of these soon. Teachers will develop a deeper understanding of modern industry and the technical skills required by employers which will give a clearer view of career pathways for their students. 

Teachers will be fully immersed in their day-to-day activities, working across different departments which will provide first-hand experience of working within industry. 

This is a unique and exciting way to develop professionally and offers key insights into the inside operations and skills required in different design, manufacturing or engineering fields.

Teachers who spend time in industry are better equipped to make connections between what they teach and the real world. They can bring the knowledge they gain in industry back to the classroom, making their instruction more relevant and engaging for students.

Networking with key companies also opens doorways and opportunities for students and offers a fresh perspective on how to engage with students.
