National Engineering Day
Published 2nd November 2022
It’s Engineering Day! A day to celebrate all things engineering.
There are many reasons why we should encourage careers in engineering. Engineering is a critical profession that helps to create the infrastructure and technology that we rely on in our daily lives. From the buildings we live and work in, to the cars we drive and the roads we drive on, to the phones we use, to the medical devices that keep us healthy – engineering is essential to our modern world.
But engineering is not just about creating things – it is also about solving problems. Engineers use their skills to find ways to make things work better, faster, cheaper or more sustainably. They are the innovators and inventors who come up with new ideas and turn them into reality.
Engineering is a great career choice for anyone who is interested in making a difference in the world. It is a challenging and rewarding profession that offers excellent job prospects and the opportunity to work on some of the most exciting projects imaginable.
We have some fantastic engineering companies who are a part of our Blueprint 1000 scheme which aims to bridge the gap between education and industry and ensure a smooth transition into vital areas of industry. It’s about equipping students with the relevant skills and talent acquisition for companies.
Many Blueprint 1000 members specialise in CAD software to aid engineering projects such as Autodesk, Altium, Ansys, PTC Onshape,
Also engineering companies such as Dyson, Fulcro, Ethical Power and Eon have also been become members of the scheme. Find out more about Blueprint 1000 (blueprint1000.org.uk) and how you can get involved.
