21st September - Secondary Core Level Health & Safety (SCHS) Initial Training Course
Whether you're an educator or a technician, this program is tailored for those engaged with various material aspects of the subject. Designed to update your understanding of health and safety, the course features engaging modules encompassing core standards, environmental concerns, legal considerations, and more. Please note that this course does not include machine training. Upon registration, you'll receive pre-course materials to aid in assembling your accreditation portfolio.
20th October - Secondary Materials Health and Safety (SMHS) - Initial Course
Ideal for Teachers, Technicians, Teaching Assistants, and those assisting learners in workshop environments, this course offers a practical avenue to obtain Health and Safety (H&S) accreditation certification. Through hands-on training, participants will master safety protocols using a range of tools and equipment, including drilling and sanding machines, portable power tools, power fret saws, hand tools, and polishing machines.
17th November – Teaching Food Safety CIEH & SFHS
This face-to-face program equips delegates with theoretical and practical knowledge crucial for successful food education. Successful completion leads to Level 2 Foundation Food Safety accreditation from CIEH and Secondary Food Health & Safety (SFHS) endorsement, empowering attendees to teach and support food classes effectively. It’s ideal for secondary D&T Food Preparation and Nutrition educators, including teachers, trainee teachers, technicians, and teaching assistants, as well as those overseeing clubs or food activities in schools.

11th January - Safe Use of Wood Sawing Machines & Planer/Thicknesser INITIAL Training Course (S1HS & S8HS)
This intensive course offers practical training to equip participants with the skills needed for precise and safe material preparation in-school workshops. Encompassing a range of woodworking machining processes, including circular saw, narrow band saw, and planer/thicknesser operation, the program ensures thorough preparation. Attendees will receive a comprehensive course pack detailing legal requirements and the necessary knowledge and skills to effectively and safely utilise woodworking machinery. Designed for teachers, technicians, and relevant staff.
12th January - Portable Power Tools (S9HS) - Initial Training Course
Gain Health and Safety (H&S) accreditation certification with a dynamic, hands-on course that involves using machinery to accomplish designated tasks. This program covers a spectrum of equipment, including portable tools like angle grinders, circular saws, biscuit cutters, reciprocating (jig) saws, planning machines, and routers with router tables. No prior experience is required with these machines. The curriculum aligns with current D&T Association Training Standards, ensuring comprehensive and up-to-date instruction.
