Funding Opportunity for Secondary Schools and Colleges
Published 4th December 2023
Secondary schools and colleges now have the opportunity to apply for grants of up to £100,000. This initiative is part of the Wolfson Foundation’s Secondary Education Programme, which aims to support educational institutions.
The grants, which are generally allocated for new construction projects, refurbishments, and the procurement of technical equipment, present a valuable resource for schools looking to enhance their facilities and teaching methodologies.
To be eligible, schools must meet certain criteria, including being state-funded, having a minimum of two years' worth of exam results available, and having undergone inspection by Ofsted, Estyn, HMIE, or ETI with an overall outcome of 'Good' or above.
The application process consists of two stages. The upcoming funding round will open for stage 1 applications from December 1, 2023, to January 10, 2024. Schools and colleges successful in this initial stage will then have until February 15, 2024, to submit their stage-two application.
This funding opportunity provides a promising avenue for educational institutions to invest in the improvement of STEM and arts education, contributing to the overall advancement of secondary education across the UK.
