A thrilling new competition invites primary school children aged 7 to 11 to unleash their creativity by designing gadgets that will enhance the performance of the iconic Gladiators. The Gladiators micro:bit Competition not only offers a platform for budding inventors to showcase their ideas but also presents an opportunity to win fantastic Gladiators-themed prizes and tech rewards.
How to Enter
To participate, students will need to watch an engaging video featuring Gladiator Phantom and Mwaksy, who will guide them on how to enter the competition. Schools are encouraged to explore the Inventor Workshop Lessons for inspiration on designing their gadgets. Once the designs are ready, they can be submitted through the competition portal. The deadline for entries is set for midday on Friday, December 6, 2024.
Prizes Await!
The competition is packed with exciting prizes. The winning school will receive a visit from a Gladiator, alongside a £500 voucher for computing equipment. The students' design will also be transformed into a prototype gadget, culminating in a special Gladiator-themed micro:bit coding day facilitated by a BBC micro:bit expert.
For the three runners-up, each will receive a £500 voucher for computing equipment, a classroom set of micro:bits and an interactive coding day with the expert.
Additionally, the top 50 entries will be rewarded with their own classroom set of micro:bits, ensuring that many students can participate in this exciting educational experience.

Whether dedicating a full day to Gladiators-themed activities or scheduling a series of inventor workshops, there are many ways to inspire creativity. For those short on time, a 30-minute lesson is available to help students start designing in teams.
