D&T ResearchMeet
Published 3rd September 2021
In response to the growing interest in educational research in schools, the D&T Association are hosting our first ResearchMeet at the end of September 2021. This event is aimed at D&T educators with an interest in school-based research in the subject and will include presentations from practicing teacher researchers and academics.
This event is organised by the newly formed D&T Association Research Steering Group and goes hand in hand with the survey launched in the summer term. If you are using or doing research in D&T (or interested in beginning to), this event is for you, and is the first in a series of 6 planned for 2021/22. The D&T ResearchMeets will showcase contemporary education research being conducted by D&T educators, focusing on the implications for classroom practice.
Speakers at this event will include Professor Kay Stables, Bill Nicholl, Daniela Schillaci and Dr Brendan Anglim. Daniela will talk about her journey to becoming a teacher researcher, and Brendan will share findings from his doctorate on D&T and STEM teachers’ perceptions of gender.
The event will be online on Zoom between 4.30 and 6.00pm on Wednesday 29th September. Look out for announcements on the line for presentations. This event will be presented by members of the Research Steering Group.
