Design and Technology Summer School and COVID-19 crisis

It is with much regret but will come as no surprise to most, to hear that we have decided to cancel our 2020 Summer School planned for Friday 3rd July 2020 in its current format.
This year’s Summer School had been redesigned from its traditional two-days to one day only, following feedback from teachers who wanted to attend in 2019 but were unable to justify the cost from stretched school budgets or were unable to take two days away from their students. We addressed the school duration and the cost, lowering the delegate rate to £95 for members and £125 for non-members thus making attendance as affordable as possible.
Exciting keynotes had been lined up along with a full schedule of hands-on practical workshops for both primary and secondary colleagues. Members have repeatedly informed us of the importance of subject specific CPD; supporting them to adapt, change and improve the curriculum offered in schools and the ability to try out different ideas, collaborate with colleagues and see what other schools are doing. Indeed, seeing what good looks like has arguably never been so important.
We are examining various options to try to virtually bring some of the elements that we had planned for summer school to you via an online platform. We will provide detail on how and when we propose to run this over the course of the next couple of months; meanwhile, we will set about organising a summer school to beat all others for 2021.
We will, of course, refund any teacher or school who has already made a booking, or you can have the option of moving to a different training course* later this year should you choose.
*There may be an additional payment required when moving to different training sessions
