Join us on our quest to unlock how biology can teach us to make ecologically positive design decisions

Bio-inspired textiles (BIT) is an Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC) funded project focused on looking to nature to teach us how to make better design decisions with the resources available to us. The BIT team are creating resources that translate and apply the knowledge found in nature to enable designers to create textiles that combat resource efficiency, longevity, and recovery. 

The webinar was brought to you by The Design and Technology Association in partnership with the BIT team and was originally aired on Tuesday 18th May. The webinars intent was to give a high-level overview of the research being carried out and to engage a working group that Veronika and her team to can work with to develop resources that align to the D&T curriculum across all the key stages. This is an opportunity to work first-hand with one of the world's leading researchers in this field. Veronika's funding requires her to bring the learning to schools and she has quite rightly identified design and technology as the most suitable subject to work with this research as the research is as much about how these new technologies will be used by designers as it is about the science itself, and it does truly highlight the importance of interdisciplinary innovation.
