A-Level, T Level and BTEC Results Day 2024

Today is a significant milestone for students, teachers, and families alike. A Level, T Level and BTEC Results Day 2024 has arrived, filled with excitement and anticipation, reflecting the hard work and determination of everyone involved.

This year carries special meaning as students finally see the results of their efforts. Today is more than just a staging post within an academic journey—it's the beginning of countless opportunities that lie ahead.

A Mix of Emotions

For students, the day is a whirlwind of feelings. Excitement mingles with nerves as they open envelopes or check their results online, discovering the grades they've worked so hard to achieve.

Teachers also share in this moment. Their dedication, guidance, and support have been crucial in helping students reach this point. Today, they see the fruits of their labour as their students prepare to take the next steps in their educational and professional lives.

The Results

There's a lot to celebrate this year, especially in design and technology, where grades overall have risen. Whilst this year saw a very small reduction in the number of entries (91, or 0.86% less than last year), we saw a slight increase in the number of female entries and grades overall improved compared to last years and pre-Covid in 2019.

The percentage of students gaining A* or A grades has risen significantly again compared to 2023 stats and pre-Covid. (A* percentage increased 0.4% on 2023, a 1.4% increase since 2019. And A* or A grades increased by 1.4% this year, a significant 3% increase since 2019).

The percentage of students achieving a B grade or higher since 2019 has increased by 5.3%, demonstrating constant improvement and C or above has increased by 3.2% since 2019. These figures suggest that teachers and students have now consolidated learning from the 2017 changes to exam syllabi and are improving year on year.   

This improvement highlights the commitment to innovation, creativity, and hands-on learning. It's a win for students and teachers, showing the positive impact of passionate teaching and collaborative efforts.

Results Day is not the end—it's the start of new adventures. Whether students choose higher education, vocational training, apprenticeships, or creative pursuits, many paths are now open to them.

The resilience students have shown during their studies has prepared them for whatever comes next. The lessons learned, both in and out of the classroom, will guide them as they move towards a bright future.
