Why do I need this training?
Schools are responsible for the safety of both the pupils in their care and their members of staff.
OFSTED reviews risk assessments and health and safety qualifications as part of their safeguarding criteria. This is a limiting judgement and the school can fail if these criteria are not met.
Failure to ensure pupil of staff safety could result in criminal or civil prosecution. If there was a court case following a health and safety incident in your school, the court would review risk assessments and health and safety qualifications of the staff responsible.
Well over ten thousand teachers across the UK are already Health and Safety registered.

Did you know?
- Young pupils are particularly vulnerable to food-borne diseases and food poisoning, which can be fatal.
- As well as pupil safety, teaching staff are also responsible for the safe storage and handling of all ingredients including those that pupils leave with them from home.
- Cases of food poisoning are rising and are 10 times higher than they were 30 years ago
For teachers who are new to Food technology, or have been recently allocated this as part of their role, these responsibilities can be daunting.
The Food Safely courses provide you with fully recognised training, literature and qualifications in one full day session.
